UV400 and polarised are two different things
UV400 means the lens blocks light up to 400 nanometres, which covers essentially all UVA and UVB. That is the eye protection, and it is a specification, not a marketing word.
Polarised means the lens cuts glare off water, sand and roads. That is comfort, and it is why children stop squinting. Every current Speckles style is polarised, except our clearance range (Willow, Harry, Sophia, Mini & Me and Hollows), which are not.
A dark tint on its own tells you nothing. A tinted lens with no UV protection makes the pupil open wider behind it, which lets more UV in than no sunglasses at all.

Before you choose
Do young children really need sunglasses?
Yes. Children's eyes let in more UV than adults' do, and around 40 to 50 percent of a person's lifetime UV exposure happens before age 20. Every pair we make blocks 100% of UV.
Will my child actually keep them on?
Our frames are shaped for little faces rather than scaled down from adult shapes, which is the usual reason sunglasses slide off. The Baby range is designed to sit securely on a smaller head.
What happens when they break them?
We offer a complimentary 12 month warranty on our Speckles sunglasses, as we understand kids will be kids. If a frame does break within 12 months of a website or official Speckles purchase, we'll replace it. Email hello@specklesforkids.com with your order number and/or receipt and a photo of the damage, and once we confirm the fault, we'll organise a replacement of the same value. Please read our returns policy for more details.
How do I know which size to choose?
Use the four size bands above. Baby covers 3 months to 3 years, Little covers 3 to 6, Big covers 7 to 12, and Teen and adult covers 12 and up. Some frames sit across two bands, which is noted on the product page.

Do Speckles sunglasses fit over prescription glasses?
