Every child sees differently. You do not have to be just one thing.
Speckles represents children through seven brand characters: Speck, who represents wholeness, and six archetypes covering confidence, vitality, sensitivity, imagination, kindness and resilience.
Speckles has never just been a company that makes eye patches and sunglasses. From the very start, it was a place for education and awareness on kids' eye health. A community. Somewhere families could land when nobody else had the time to explain things properly.
As we have grown alongside your kids, we have grown too, in how we show what that actually means. Supporting a child and their family through their vision journey was never just about a product. It is about actually seeing the child. Their struggles. Their feelings. That is what I felt every day as an orthoptist, watching a child in my clinic and feeling every bit of what they were going through, right alongside them.
These characters are an extension of that. Of every child I saw in clinic. Of every child on their vision journey that Speckles has met and helped since.
Every Child Sees Differently
No two children see the world the same way, and no two children feel their way through a day the same way either. So instead of one mascot standing in for all of that, we created six.

A child is not just brave, or just quiet, or just kind, on any given day. They are all of it, depending on the hour, the mood, the moment. And honestly, so are we.
I do not think any of us should be put in one box. In the right environment, we can be all of these things. That is what Speck represents. We are never only one part. Speck is the truth that wholeness is made up of every part, all at once, in a child, and in every adult who was a child once too.
That is why Speck comes last here, and not first. You have to meet all of the parts before the whole makes sense.
