Meet JJ π
JJ's vision journey began when he was 3 months old, when his parents noticed some differences in his eyes. His doctors first thought he had Duane's syndrome, but he was later diagnosed with infantile esotropia, which is a type of strabismus where one or both eyes turn inwards.Β
Now 1 and a half, JJ has already undergone an MRI, eye surgery on both eyes and has been wearing an eye patch for 2 hours a day since he was 6 months old. His journey isn't over yet; he will likely need another bilateral eye surgery after the age of 2.
Despite everything, JJ's mum said he is the most resilient young boy! He continues to smile through his medical journey and shows everyone daily that nothing will hold him back from living his best life!
His family's patching tip is to put the patch on as soon as he wakes up, as he doesnβt seem to notice it as much. This is such a great idea for anyone patching little ones π
Thank you to JJ's family for sharing his beautiful story with our community. We are all cheering you on, JJ!Β
