Brielle is almost 3 and has been patching since she was 3 months old as she was born with a congenital cataract. She had surgery at only 3 weeks old to remove the cataract and now patches to correct the amblyopia and strabismus that developed. Brielle is also a twin so she's had LOTS of support on this vision journey 👯‍♀️

Cassandra, Brielle's Mum said "my tip for patching is distraction 😆. We are on the go a lot, which is tough every day with 4 small kids, but we do it every day to get in the time. Lots of walks outside, to the park or to the zoo. If the weather is not cooperating, I have plenty of sensory play items that I rotate."

We love these ideas because, in addition to keeping Brielle entertained, fun activities like this help her see that despite her patch, she is still able to take on the world like her siblings.

Cassandra said her family also loves our Hide&See eye patches because "they do not cause irritation on her extremely sensitive skin and the designs are super cute!" which we LOVE to hear! 🙌
