Meet our Patchers

Sophia is 3 years old and was diagnosed with PHPV (persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous) and Microphthalmia in her right eye. These conditions are a result of the eyes not fully developing during pregnancy and prevent the affected eye(s) from functioning properly, resulting in vision loss

Sienna is eight and has been wearing glasses since she was two as she is farsighted. At her most recent check-up, Sienna's optometrist noticed a massive deterioration in her weaker eye and so, she has started patching for two hours a day to help strengthen it.

Sophie is 3 years old and started wearing glasses when she was 12 months old for her esotropia (a misalignment in the eyes in which one eye turns inward). To help strengthen her curious eye and correct this turn, she started patching in October.

Emilia is 4 years old and has amblyopia, which was picked up by her daycare educator. Her favourite patching activities are colouring in and going to the park. She’s only just begun her patching journey (2 weeks in) but "what looked like a tough situation now looks fun and bright!"

Bronte is a bright, cheeky and strong-willed 4 year old who has just started kindergarten. She has worn glasses since she was 2 due to strabismus along with two of her sisters. She has been patching for 4 weeks so far to help her curious eye strengthen.
